Abstract

Southside Distributors is a multi-award winning agro-processing facility located in St. Elizabeth Jamaica. We manufacture and distribute Canned Vegetables, Sauces, Seasonings and Syrups both locally and internationally. Ably led by our founder and C.E.O Denese Palmer we are on a strong growth path. We have achieved much in our 11 years of operations but our vision for the company is not yet achieved. We are determined and focused to achieve our goals.

Who is your customer?

Southside Distributors currently targets the domestic market (Jamaica) specifically Hotels, Supermarkets and distributors, as well as international markets, particularly the US, UK and Canada for the sale of its products.

What problem does this idea/product solve or what market need does it serve?

The company produces a line of fresh agro-processed products to include canned vegetables (ackee and callaloo), canned juices, sauces and seasonings. The range of product's are sought after for their taste, convenience, as well as their ethnic connection to Jamaica.

What attributes will make this idea/product successful? Why do you believe that those features will create success?

Fresh, authentic jamaican products made to the highest quality standard; Our products also have a large demand both locally and internationally.

Explain how you (your team) will execute to make this idea/product successful? What gives you (your team) an advantage over others already in the market or new to this market?

Southside Distributors has a robust team supporting the company. The business is being led by Denese Palmer, who boasts over 20 years' experience in the food manufacturing industry and is highly respected and awarded entrepreneur not just in Jamaica, but within the Caribbean. Ms. Palmer is supported by an Operations Manager, Productions Manager, Accountant and a staff of over 40.
