Aska Luxury Home Fragrances

Abstract

I am creating luxury home fragrances using Icelandic medicinal herbs & plants, selling holistic treatment candles and fine perfume room sprays. I aspire to re-brand and re-launch the concept I test traded in London successfully. I am collabarating with an Icelandic perfumer who uses organic herbs & plants. I would like to contribute to putting Icelandic products on an International map.

My aim is to pioneer skilled craftsmanship in Iceland, as many people import all goods. I will invite my customers to feel part of the experience of an artisan product being made by the workshop, which will also function as a retail outlet, being open to the public. I'm looking for a investor & mentor in order to launch.

Who is your customer?

My typical customers are Female Aged 25+ and Men 30 +. They are health conscious and shop at organic food stores. They will work in cities and travel often across the globe; they often buy luxury goods. They value style and invest in how they look and feel and are very glamourous. They are focused on themselves and have disposable income to afford self help and luxury products that they can feel they benefit from. They buy into a brand and its story being premium, more so than cheap and cheerful products. They are into design, sophisticated scents, artisan products, spirituality and meditation. They appreciate the wellbeing benefits of plants herbs.

What problem does this idea/product solve or what market need does it serve?

I have statistics and market research from the British Library to prove the increase in sales of luxury home products. Since the financial crash people buy fewer houses and invest more in what they already have. There is more home improvement and buying of sophisticated products to maintain the feeling of luxury.

What attributes will make this idea/product successful? Why do you believe that those features will create success?

From test trading, I saw people buy into the brand's story and the concept of better living. They buy into the design. Even the candle containers can be used after. I believe pioneering craftsmanship and creating a product that brings nature directly into their home. Nature is the new luxury.

Explain how you (your team) will execute to make this idea/product successful? What gives you (your team) an advantage over others already in the market or new to this market?

I test traded this concept in London with the Princes Trust. Having worked so hard to create this product that I believe in it was rewarding that so many customers loved it. It was a success, despite the enormous competition.Therefore, I am confident it will do even better in Iceland.
