Sham Bags - The Ultimate Travel Bag

Abstract

Established in 2017, Sham Bags is designed in California with the mission to give back to refugees. We are a small team of avid travelers have explored the world on a tight budget. Always seeking the best flight deals, we noticed a major flaw. Budget airlines have the cheapest flights but the most expensive carry-on fees. Beginning to see a pattern, we spoke with fellow travelers from around the world to hear their experiences. It was unanimous that affordable, functional carry-ons for budget airlines don't exist. From that moment, Sham Bags was born.

What problem does this idea/product solve or what market need does it serve?

Pain Points Solved: Fits all carry-on requirements (no extra travel fees) Designed and field tested by avid travelers Fashion X Functionality Leverages design thinking & ergonomics Donates to humanitarian causes As avid travelers, my partner and I love to explore and take weekend trips. During our adventures, we realized there is no good travel backpack that really understood our needs, while we were on the go. Beginning to see a pattern, my partner and I spoke with many fellow travelers from around the world to hear their experiences. It was unanimous that affordable, functional, fashionable, carry-on size bags don't exist. From that moment, Sham Bags was born.

What attributes will make this idea/product successful? Why do you believe that those features will create success?

The Sham Bags - Travel Carry-on is a hybrid between backpack and duffel bag, which is perfect for travelers looking for a well-designed bag, and also avoids any carry on fees. Our design is built to endure, and curated for the style conscious traveler. We believe travel accessories should be an extension of your personal style and the epitome of function.

Explain how you (your team) will execute to make this idea/product successful? What gives you (your team) an advantage over others already in the market or new to this market?

Our team is a highly skilled group of hardworking, honest, and passionate people who want to improve both the lives of those who travel and those who cannot. Our product is unlike any out there, it has been engineered and field tested by engineers to be highly customized and fashionable, and it is a big differentiator. Our customers love our brand, and we know what we have to do to continue to grow and capture the market. We are passionate about our new venture, and that is proven as we continue to expand our brand by attending Unique LA, Artists & Fleas, Agenda Show, Renegade, and Demo Day.
