Thumb Roast Coffee

Abstract

We are a coffee roastery located in the Thumb of Michigan. We sell in store plus wholesale to several retailers and coffee shops in Michigan.

We don't just roast coffee. We bring to life the flavor from each region of the world, allowing you to have a unique experience with each cup! Each batch is roasted using both art and science to create an artisanal product that you can't find anywhere else.

​We offer coffees from around the World: Brazil, Colombian, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Mexico, Sumatra just to name a few! We also are the exclusive seller of coffee from Malawi Africa! No one else in the world offers this rare varietal.

We are hoping to expand our offerings in store, plus begin to manufacture bottles of cold brew coffee for wholesaling. By doing so, we'll be able to hire employees and increase our tax base, giving back to our community/city.

Who is your customer?

We sell freshly roasted coffee business to business and directly to consumers in our storefront and online. Our customer is someone who desires to have fresh and clean product, void of fillers, chemicals and flavorings. They desire quality, not quantity.

What problem does this idea/product solve or what market need does it serve?

Statistically, over 50% of the entire world drinks coffee daily. With consumers being more aware of how to source their food, we provide a food product that is fresh and clean amd can be traced to tbe farm. We also would like to begin bottling our own cold brew as we are highly complimented on it frequently by our customers. Our desire is to have bottles available in all of our current retailers and our stotefront available for sale.

What attributes will make this idea/product successful? Why do you believe that those features will create success?

We have been selling our cold brew in two locations for the past year. We have had an overwhelming response in the taste and flavor of our unique iced coffee. We use our own freshly roasted coffee, and process it in house.

Explain how you (your team) will execute to make this idea/product successful? What gives you (your team) an advantage over others already in the market or new to this market?

We use freshly roasted coffee and not older, stale coffee. We also have a unique process that makes our cold brew sweeter and less acidic than our competitors. We are also local and consumers are looking to support local businesses over the national chain.
