Vehicle Cargo Rack System

The Rev Rack is an innovative product in a sea of basket-style vehicle roof racks. The Rev Rack is a flat-style tray made in three sizes that attaches to most vehicle's cargo load bars. Made of aluminum and powder coated in any color, the Rev Rack tray is low-profile and utility-minded, enabling the user to carry any type of cargo or none at all. The trays can be modified to meet each user's needs, accepting most after-market accessories, including light bars and attachments for sports gear. Leave it on all year. The product includes accessories including side-mounted J-hooks and under-tray cargo tracks with sliding cargo posts. I have proved the concept with many customers on a one-to-one basis. I need funding and more importantly a strategic partner to scale my business into retail spaces to positively disrupt today's current roof rack market.

Additional Questions

Who is your customer?

Outdoors enthusiasts, resourceful, open-minded, creative. They love traveling in their vehicle and enjoy the freedom it offers. They want a product that looks great, but they typically don't seek to be part of a cultural market-profile and join groups to reinforce their product-buying decisions. They are leaders more than they are followers.

What problem does this idea/product solve or what market need does it serve?

The Rev Rack is "better than the basket." Instead of a bar-dependent design, the Rev Rack is a low-profile aluminum tray made to be used for carrying multi-cargo items at once, more easily than in basket-racks, or left empty and more aerodynamic than basket-racks.

What attributes will make this idea/product successful? Why do you believe that those features will create success?

The Rev Rack empowers customers to decide how to carry their cargo. Optional Rev Rack accessories make this easier, but again are not required to carry bikes, skis, bags, boxes, lumber, etc. It serves as a modular platform for users to modify for special uses. The Rev Rack is compatible with most after-market accessories.

Explain how you (your team) will execute to make this idea/product successful? What gives you (your team) an advantage over others already in the market or new to this market?

The Rev Rack works great now, but there are a few design "tweaks" in the works to improve its mass appeal. I intend to keep making the Rev Rack in the USA, while most roof racks are made in China and Mexico. With a strategic partner and funding resources, the Rev Rack will be allowed to compete with the leading products sold today, starting locally and moving into regional markets.
