Additional Questions

Who is your customer?

We are primarily focusing on producing drop-in fuel for the aviation industry and the U.S. Navy. Other products include biodiesel, bioproducts, and aquaculture harvests which will be sold to biorefineries, industrial products companies, food and beverage industry, animal feed manufacturers, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics manufacturing companies.

What problem does this idea/product solve or what market need does it serve?

While tremendous technical progress and commercialization activities have taken place over the past several years, only relatively small amounts of high-priced drop-in biofuels functionally equivalent to petroleum derived transportation fuels are commercially available today. Despite having huge potential, biofuels are still challenged by issues such as feedstock access, supply chain infrastructure development, and achieving price parity with the conventional fuels industry. In addition, ongoing debates about land use, feedstock for food versus fuel, water consumption, and efficiency stand in the way of government support and investment for biofuels development.

What attributes will make this idea/product successful? Why do you believe that those features will create success?

CETI seeks to optimize the biofuel supply chain infrastructure by converging the entire process; from growing the raw material, to production, and distribution. This direct business model which is customer driven, would give us a price competitive advantage agility, flexibility, and intuitive responsiveness.

Explain how you (your team) will execute to make this idea/product successful? What gives you (your team) an advantage over others already in the market or new to this market?

CETI is at a concept stage. CETI has been designed so that we can scale rapidly. It has been designed in such way that it would be extremely difficult for competitors to duplicate CETI. Our competitive advantages are due to our proprietary technologies (in process), project design, business model, and innovative partnerships and alliances. By locating the first plant in Puerto Rico we would be in close proximity to areas that lack easy, fast, and economical access to biofuel. We expect to export biofuel to the islands in the Caribbean, the US east coast, as well as to Central and South America. We would also provide most of Puerto Rico's electricity by converting the grid to use biofuel instead of fossil fuels.
