Emitech Inc. is an established research and development firm specializing in the application of nanotechnology innovations. Emitech focuses its efforts on three major areas; Clean Energy, Explosives Detection,and Applied Materials Sciences. We propose a novel approach for the fabrication of transparent conductive coating (TCC) based on micropercolation grid (named PERCO) with a transmittance (T) / sheet resistance (R) performance exceeding current T/R metrics for regular (square pattern) conductive grids and other continuous TCC, including ITO. The main concept of this technology is based on the fundamental principle of the percolation phenomenon which can be applied to the microgrid patterning, providing substantial improvement of T/R performance and suppression of light diffraction. Algorithmic microgrid patterning
can be implemented by various deposition techniques (printing, spraying, coating), using different conductive materials (metals, metal nanowires, carbon nanotubes, graphene, conductive polymers) on glass and flexible plastic substrates. The preliminary experiments and modeling demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed concept. Our IP is protected by the patent application in 2015. The PERCO approach is capable to produce TCC with substantially better T/R performance, suppressed light diffraction and for a lower cost than regular conductive grids or any other continuous TCC including ITO. The global market for TCC should reach over $7.7 billion by 2021 from over $5.7 billion in 2016 at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.2% from 2016 to 2021.The thin Film Solar Cells Market was over $8 billion in 2015 with over 16% growth forecast from 2016 to 2024. It is hard to overestimate the impact of a new generation of micropercolation transparent conductive grids in photovoltaic market, displays industry, and LEDs manufacturing in the near future.
