Digital Marketplace

Abstract

Trots is an online digital marketplace that connects buyers and sellers for good and services in africa. We have just finished our pilot which involved merchants with a combined annual turnover of over 10 billion USD.

Trots marketplace has also a unique digital wallet embedded on it- this gives both users and merchants more value as they can accept payment effortlessly.

BUSINESS MODEL

We take 3% and 1.5% commission on each transaction done online and on premise respectively

We are currently available on windows and android with iOS coming soon.

In our first financial year of launch we target a Gross Merchandise Value(total dollar value of everything sold through Trots) of 5 Billion USD and a Take Rate(A percentage of transaction value that the marketplace collects in fees) of 60 million USD

Who is your customer?

Africa growing middle class who have appetite to spend. This demographic is young, urban and restless with technology as their last resort for instant gratification.

What problem does this idea/product solve or what market need does it serve?

What attributes will make this idea/product successful? Why do you believe that those features will create success?

Trots customer acquisition is  anchored  on the loyalty our  partners bring to the marketplace as well as our habit forming user experience that we have adopted while developing this platform. On top of social features that are meant to drive virility,  we shall pay attention to collaborative marketing strategies with our partners to build loyalty on top of their existing following.

Explain how you (your team) will execute to make this idea/product successful? What gives you (your team) an advantage over others already in the market or new to this market?

I have a strong successful background in business and startup development. We have also tapped into experienced board of advisors with individuals who have worked and managed listed companies as well as attended top business schools. Our developers are young excited and super talented and ready to walk with us in this journey- all with average 24 years.
