Who is your customer?
Limit narrowed down its customer to one main demographic: the concerned parent. This profile lives in suburban areas, usually outer skirts of larger cities, such as San Diego, San Francisco, Paolo Alto, and Los Angeles. They are typically newer parents, but the overall age ranges from 25-55. They have a steady income and are willing to pay for any product that will keep their child safe and social.
What problem does this idea/product solve or what market need does it serve?
In an world where phone addiction is increasingly harmful to healthy social development, Limit allows parents the comfort of always knowing their child is safe, the child's independence is sustained, trust is being built between the child and parent, and provides an overall solution that allows children to experience real world meaningful moments, beyond superficial technological ones.
What attributes will make this idea/product successful? Why do you believe that those features will create success?
Limit’s value lies in four main features: (1) Limiting the child’s content whenever deemed necessary by the commander; (2) Limiting the child during certain timeframes every day, such as during the hours of school; (3) Limiting the use of certain apps, such as Facebook or Snapchat; (4) Setting a predetermined allotment of time to use daily, such as a total of one hour in order to mitigate micro-managing; and (5) Alerting the parent whenever the child is driving in order to restrict their access and safeguard the hands free policy. Beyond these core features, the inability of parents to monitor and view content on the child’s device is one of Limit’s main competitive advantages. Limit’s design is in the best interest of the concerned parent and the autonomous child, where trust is a requirement for socially responsible families and healthy development. The parent will never be able to location track their child, contrasting all direct competitors, but in case the child goes missing, Limit is able to geolocate the specific vicinity of the child’s position.
Explain how you (your team) will execute to make this idea/product successful? What gives you (your team) an advantage over others already in the market or new to this market?
The Limit team was founded on varied talents and diverse backgrounds. Each one of us brings different connections and are the bridge between the generational breakdown of parents and phone-addicted children. We understand both demographics extremely well and any shortcomings are made up for in passion and commitment. There aren’t any ego problems on this team as we know our strengths, and when we need to seek additional guidance.
