Faced with the growing global market for home automation and automation of smart homes and buildings, it is necessary to innovate and articulate concepts such as home automation and security. The need for automation is becoming increasingly evident, contaminating the electronic market of a myriad of electrical and electronic devices, automatic and semi-automatic, neglecting a relevant aspect in them, such as safety in its use and maintenance. This is how e-Plug was born, as an emerging and little-addressed concept that protects home comfort and security in homes, providing the user with a pleasant experience, which will allow them to wirelessly control the plugs of their home, reducing energy costs excessive, providing estimated consumption graphs and also auto-off the plug in case of overconsumption of energy, protecting the existing electrical network and thus giving the user a comprehensive experience in the concept of home automation.

Who is your customer?

Our target market is the real estate companies that are implementing home automation technologies in Chile, and want to add value to their buildings. The home automation market has a current growth of 3% in new buildings, which translates to 9100 homes that will own some home automation technology during 2018. These real estate represent the business opportunity and are those who are willing to incorporate our technology, because the value proposition they give to their clients promotes energy, efficient and safe control of their systems. Currently these companies supply this need through solutions and products with high prices and reduced characteristics. e-Plug proposes a value proposal that, in addition to meeting these needs, adds value to the user, through energy management and control mechanisms that will achieve savings in terms of consumption losses of connected and unused devices.

What problem does this idea/product solve or what market need does it serve?

The Institute for the Diversification and Saving of Energy of the Spanish government (IDAE) tells us that 20% of total consumption corresponds to household appliances that remain connected for long periods of time, producing energy losses close to 776 KWh and a US expense. $ 166 a year. In relation to this problem are the more than 3,000 fires produced in Chile due to electrical failures, with losses reaching US $ 23,294,118; not to mention what happened recently at the Torre Grenfell in London, leaving a figure of 79 people dead. Finally, it should be noted that the type of energy used worldwide corresponds to 80% conventional energy (fossil fuels) generating damage to the ozone layer by alarming emissions of CO2.

e-Plug is the solution to the problems of use and energy consumption, providing an innovative proposal. It is an intelligent plug connected wirelessly to your network, which is controlled by a mobile application. Among the most important features of e-Plug are: to. The users of electric domotic control and energization systems, approach this type of controls in a traditional way (plugs, switches, electro-mechanical timers). Because the market has not yet addressed the concept of home automation massively, users are limited to using the aforementioned controls, which in any case are much cheaper than systems that incorporate some electronic development. The foregoing is important to highlight, because we must conquer the market and compete in equivalent prices with advanced functions. Our product centralizes a large number of functions (wireless control, parental control, among others), providing easy control of electricity and a simple management of our money, as well as generating awareness in the user. It has a direct connection to Wifi without the need for a centralizer like other similar products; has a mobile application; It has the integration of sensors such as Humidity, Temperature, Gas, etc. e-Plug differs from many other smart plugs, because it is also built in two versions: a.
