Solarbab ou ‘Baobab solaire’

Abstract

The Solarbab or 'Solar Baobab' is a mobile solar umbrella composed of 2 canvases between which we will put tulles that will allow the wind to pass inside the umbrella and out between the two canvases. This will allow it to withstand the wind. The first canvas of the parasol will be covered by flexible solar cells that will convert light into electricity. The second canvas will be composed of two economic LED mosquito repellent lights that illuminate and protect the user's space at night (18h-23h) insects and mosquitoes (responsible for malaria). The current generated by the photovoltaic cells will then be transferred via a voltage regulator and it will be stored safely in rechargeable batteries. The regulator and the battery will be put in a box in the form of a prism which will be the foot and the support of the parasol. Thus the support will allow it to better withstand the wind. The trunk and the foot will be made from local materials to be recyclable after.

The user will be able to charge his electrical devices (mobile, laptops) via a USB port and a plug connectors on the base of the parasol during the day. Our electricity access solution will be clean, sustainable, affordable and "made in Africa".
