What problem does this idea/product solve or what market need does it serve?
How does a presenter know an audience’s overall reaction to his presentation? The only built in live feedback mechanism for this scenario is at the end of each presentation, the audience’s applause. Clapping has become an obligatory gesture which illustrates an inaccurate interpretation of how the audience truly feels. Thus the presenter is unaware of his flaws, unbeknownst that there could be improvement if there were simply a way for the audience to give their sincere and valuable feedback throughout.
What attributes will make this idea/product successful? Why do you believe that those features will create success?
Clapmetrics is a webapp which allows the audience to give quick, anonymous feedback to the presenter throughout the presentation. This feedback can be viewed and gauged real-time by the presenter on a digital dashboard via their PC, tablet or phone allowing them to adapt mid-speech if desired. If the presenter finds the real-time feed distracting, they can wait until after the conclusion of the presentation to review a final performance metrics report and make adjustments for their next speech. It benefits the audience too as they can play a part in tailoring the presentation through pre-seminar surveys, further pre and post reading material further informs the participant’s knowledge base on the subject. Presenters can provide additional incentives to ensure that the audience uses clapmetics™.
Explain how you (your team) will execute to make this idea/product successful? What gives you (your team) an advantage over others already in the market or new to this market?
We are an early stage startup and we plan to acquire customers by directly selling our product to presenters. We will use a Freemium model wherein the basic features of the webapp would be free and we would charge a monthly subscription fee for the premium features such as data analytics, etc.
We will build customer loyalty by utilizing the IDIC - Identify Differentiate Interaction Customize - Customer Relationship Model (CRM). We will effectively segment the market and deliver the appropriate customized product to maximize customer acquisition and retention for each segment.
We have looked at a number of competitors, namely ‘Glisser’, ‘Classflow’ and ‘Nearpod’. Each offered feedback options but they created a pause in the presentation making way for a separate slide at which point the participants would provide individual feedback through noted comments. Clapmetircs differentiates here by working in the background throughout and invites participants to comments if and when they wish through gestures and emojis.
