Marshall Entrepreneurial Business Review (MEBR) is a publication sourced from real entrepreneurs and universities (with one particular one in mind!) that provides the latest knowledge and expertise to help entrepreneurs succeed.

Who is your customer?

Folks pursuing or wanting to pursue an entrepreneurial endeavor. Target Markets: USC students, professors and alumni. It provides learning material for professor's classes, supplemental resources for students who want to go beyond the classroom and a touch point for alumni to stay connected to their university and stay up to date on the latest research and happenings in the community. Students/Grads (early adopters) pursuing business degrees with an entrepreneurial focus. (The most conferred degree: 547k/yr) Targeting women (underserved) in Los Angeles & Silicon Beach in their 20s and 30s who consider themselves risk takers

What problem does this idea/product solve or what market need does it serve?

Startup entrepreneurs currently have to piece mail knowledge over several years to figure out how to start a business. Much of the advice is conceptual and not actionable. There are a lack of university based authoritative publications on entrepreneurship that are accessible and relevant nationally. We need a publication that originates from and represents the west, most are founded on the East coast. Most business publications serve men in their mid-30's. How about women?

What attributes will make this idea/product successful? Why do you believe that those features will create success?

Content focuses on "actionable" insights procured directly from entrepreneurs, both leaders as well as newbie seed ventures. Most publications serving entrepreneur market were founded and run on east coast, not west. We have proximity to Silicon Valley, San Diego & Silicon Beach's new rising entrepreneurial community physically and relationally. Founder is a Trojan at USC, a highly-ranked school for entrepreneurship known for its tight-knit networking community allows "MEBR" to be close to the research (partnership with leading university gives more authority and access than competitors). Founder has worked in the publishing industry for over a decade.

Put the team together! Begin sourcing topics and experts Build & launch a beta version for early adopters Market to early adopter subscribers Establish licensing partnerships (Apple News, Google Play, Smart News, Flipboard, Feedly, over 200 entrepreneurship centers and 500 higher-education institutions) Founder's experience and connections will help drive this ship forward! Partnering with a university would be key!
