CitySmart

Abstract

Many of the 28-million small businesses in the US that struggle to find affordable ways to market and advertise. With the increasing cost of ad rates combined with major changes in social media platforms, many small businesses have few to no options left that won't break the bank. In 2018, US small businesses will spend $134-billion on marketing and advertising and nearly 1/2 of that amount will be spent on mobile and digital marketing.

CitySmart is a community-focused mobile app development company that partners with local municipalities, chambers of commerce, and business associations to promote hyper-local mobile applications while saving small businesses over 50% on mobile marketing and advertising. Using CitySmart’s free smartphone apps on iOS and Android, locals have relevant and useful information about their city in the palm of their hand. CitySmart apps give locals access to local weather, traffic, events, city services, business directory, and reviews from local residents.

CitySmart generates its revenue by charging small businesses monthly subscription fees of $50 to $100 for premium business listings. Businesses also Businesses that advertise on the CitySmart platform can join with a free business profile. With a premium business listing, business subscribers are able to push notifications to users that follow (similar to Facebook’s Like feature) their profile up to once per day. This feature allows businesses and organizations to stay in contact with their existing customer base as push notifications average a 90% open rate. Potential uses of this feature include restaurants ‘pushing’ notifications to customers regarding specials/ discounts, police departments ‘pushing’ notifications regarding safety, and municipalities ‘pushing’ notifications to inform constituents of important news, etc.

CitySmart will also generate revenue from charging a monthly fee for geofencing that allows each business to send automated notifications to consumers that fit their target demographic and on demand banner advertising within each app.

Our founder has a detailed background in small business advertising and development. As the former National Sales Director of a national publishing company, he's worked with thousands of small businesses in a variety of industries from coast to coast and have modeled CitySmart based on the pain points and things that he's learned. Our team is a diverse group of professionals that share a love for technology and their community. With our combination of technology and sales backgrounds, we are poised to scale CitySmart while also looking for additional team members that have the same drive and love for community as we do.
