Triptogo makes city exploration more engaging and affordable by providing users with a platform where they can complete challenges, gain points and exchange them for real-life discounts. Aimed at travelers and locals, Triptogo provides businesses with a targeted and interactive platform to attract and retain new clients.

Who is your customer?

Triptogo's market are travelers and locals who want to explore a city. We plan to be in 16 global cities in three years, with a combined user market size of 150 million travelers and 62 million locals between the ages of 15-64. Our target users are young, adventurous people who seek interactive ways to discover a place. They are typically motivated by discounts and freebies. Our target customers are small and medium businesses in the hospitality industry that aims to attract these users.

What problem does this idea/product solve or what market need does it serve?

Exploring a city can be expensive and difficult. Travelers and locals want affordable and fun experiences but are unable to find them due to a lack of knowledge and time. On the flip side, businesses in the tourism industry do not have a targeted and affordable way to advertise to travelers and locals, potential clients who are looking for the products and services they offer.

What attributes will make this idea/product successful? Why do you believe that those features will create success?

The gamification of travel makes our product different from all other solutions out in the market. The virality of the concept of earning rewards through challenges, at the same time gaining knowledge, is the secret sauce that will create success.

Explain how you (your team) will execute to make this idea/product successful? What gives you (your team) an advantage over others already in the market or new to this market?

Our team is made up of two founders, an employee and a technology investor/adviser. We have a team made up of people who have proven to be do-ers, avid travelers who know travel, and a gamification specialist. Denise Lim (Singapore) manages the business aspects of Triptogo as well as front-end development. She is a former management consultant at Accenture, and has spent the last six years in Latin America starting and running businesses in the hospitality industry. After selling two of her businesses in June 2016, she spent her time between Colombia and Singapore consulting for small companies. Most recently, she helped triple business sales at a start up in the food tech industry in Singapore. Her interesting journey has seen her profiled in various news channels such as Channel NewsAsia's Business Warriors in 2014, The Straits Times and The New Paper. She has also been an invited speaker at a couple of entrepreneurship panels in Singapore. Armed with a great business track record and an ability to make things happen despite ambiguous circumstances, Denise is well-equipped to power Triptogo's ambitious plans to scale to different countries. In her free time, she rock climbs, teaches yoga and organizes start up events such as TEDx. Chantal MacDonald (Canada) manages the creative aspects of Triptogo, covering design, marketing, user experience and content. With a Masters in Visual Anthropology and specializations in documentary film-making and photography, she has worked in the creative industry in seven countries, most recently at Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore in stage production and management. Chantal is an avid traveler who has been to 41 countries around the globe, making her perfect for designing the cultural content and experience of Triptogo. She enjoys exploring new cities, discovering different cultures and has an eclectic taste in music. Janice Platt (Australia) graduated with a Bachelor in Communications and has since been honing her skills in her field. She works at Triptogo managing social media and content creation. Having worked in sales and marketing, her aptitude to turn a phrase and capture the imagination has been finely tuned. Janice's experience includes designing and executing marketing campaigns for startups, managing social media for various companies and writing on a freelance basis to keep her hand in the game. Most recently she has been working in B2B sales where she takes full advantage of her engaging personality to convert leads into sales. Keith Ng (Singapore) is Triptogo's technology adviser. He is the founder of Gametize, a start up that won funding in the reality TV show Angels’ gate, got the People’s Vote in IBM’s Asean Smartcamp 2013, and selected as SBR’s 2015 20 hottest startups in Singapore. He has 10 years of experience in the realm of gamification and was nominated as one of the most influential people in gamification globally by Gamification Summit (2014). With his support, Triptogo has a well-rounded team that is set to gamify the travel industry.
