JobKaddi

Abstract

Jobkaddi is dedicated to college students, the most important group for growing businesses hiring entry level candidates. For some students even entry level opportunities seem out of reach. Most students only have access to and knowledge of the large companies in their community leaving them with little awareness of all opportunities available especially those small businesses. They are also typically limited to their general area or applying to specific companies in other regions rather than looking with a wider angle at all possibilities.

For businesses, especially small companies, they have to recruit hard to find top talent. They are usually limited to candidates that have been passed over by the large corporations, and mostly interact with students from their region. Most students don’t have an idea what the potential is at many small businesses, have no understanding of their culture, and never get to experience what could be with so many openings at great companies across the country.

JobKaddi is dedicated to creating top analytics and technologies that allow these students and businesses to find one another and help each other grow. Using profile testing, custom video elevator pitches, business culture spotlights, allows students and businesses alike to find the right candidate and the right role.

College students are limited by location when searching for work. When limited by location the only businesses that stand out are those that carry a brand and name that proceeds their reputation. Because of this many students miss out on quality businesses with fantastic opportunities to grow. When using hiring platforms like Indeed and Career builder they are also competing against people with years of experience as well as being found through a pile of low quality resumes usually found on those sites. For small and mid-sized businesses the struggle to find high quality employee's is often the most difficult task while growing. These businesses are also competing against large companies with massive recruiting budgets and brands which make it difficult to level the playing field. Giving students a glimpse into these working environments show they the vast opportunities that exist in the market today.

What attributes will make this idea/product successful? Why do you believe that those features will create success?

Elevator pitch from students to businesses as part of their resume. Location selector for students. Allows students to choose the many areas they feel comfortable relocating to, and distributes their jobkaddi page to the area businesses fitting their interests. Level playing field between students. Confidence that their resume will not get lost in the pile as they compete against others in the world of Indeed, LinkedIn and Career Builder. Businesses see an the candidate in a new way. The elevator pitch gives them a true view into the potential hire. They receive polished resumes along with an understanding that these students actually want to be employed in their area and their line of work. Businesses are able to put spotlight videos and presentations together which give students an idea of the work and the culture they would be a part of. The goal is to marry great people with great cultures allowing both to flourish.

Explain how you (your team) will execute to make this idea/product successful? What gives you (your team) an advantage over others already in the market or new to this market?

Career services teams, colleges and universities have a goal of placing as many students into jobs as possible. These offices are easy to contact and are looking to help students in any possible way. For students technology is second nature. Making their profile easy to set up, mobile friendly and social will help them engage. Businesses, especially small businesses, operate on a limited budget but cannot grow without hiring the best candidate. Giving the option to use a platform like Jobkaddi, instead of a employment services organization will give them freedom to recruit the way they feel necessary, while providing a better cost. This platform is unlike anything in the market. Students are the future of our working economy and the largest available workforce, this platform capitalizes on this. I live this market today. Working at a small business in Green Bay, we have changed our recruiting strategy to focus on the market that is our local colleges and universities. At the same time we value the culture our small business provides students, ensuring they are trained for growth, while truly enjoying what they do. We have a story, we want other students and small businesses to display their story as well.
