d'Biomager: 4D Microscope Camera

Abstract

We have developed the world’s first true that can be attached to any existing light microscope. By providing previously unavailable information on two additional dimensions (Z,t), our camera promises market disruption by changing the way the world looks at cells and tissues in biomedicine. With our new camera add-on, we can penetrate the $4B global microscopy market.

Additional Questions

Who is your customer?

1) Biomedical researchers, especially key opinion leaders (KOLs) and early adopters 2) Pharmas/Biotechs/CROs, especially drug developers who routinely screen cellular features 3) Hospitals, especially histopathology/microscopy diagnostics facilities

What problem does this idea/product solve or what market need does it serve?

Current routine solutions only allow for 2D visualization, not in 3D. As a result, fundamental features about cellular size, growth, aging and death are routinely missed out. This is an embarrassing travesty, for biomedical research, for drug development, and for public healthcare. But it also represents a massive opportunity for us. While new methods for 3D microscopy are being developed, all of them require a completely different expensive imaging setup with a very different mode of operations compared to the routinely-used microscopes, and often take a long time. Our new product, the d’Bioimager is an add-on camera that can be fixed onto any existing microscope and our solution can be easily operated by anyone who is already familiar with regular optical microscopy, thus requiring no changes in customer behavior or training whatsoever.
