What problem does this idea/product solve or what market need does it serve?

Petiole solves the problem of absence of the effective and affordable precision agriculture technology for measurement of leaf area and chlorophyll content. Existing methods are not filling the users' needs. Graph paper outlines or special PC programs (ImageJ, Adobe Photoshop, etc) bring inaccurate and time-consuming results. Leaf area scanners and chlorophyll meters are expensive and not convenient to use in field.

What attributes will make this idea/product successful? Why do you believe that those features will create success?

Explain how you (your team) will execute to make this idea/product successful? What gives you (your team) an advantage over others already in the market or new to this market?

I believe that our team has all ingredients for success. Over 10 years of my software development experience establish a very solid technical expertise for our project. Maryna Kuzmenko, CEO Petiole, got her Ph.D. in Business Law (2015) and has a strong experience of work with governmental bodies and international companies due to her over 6 years work in legal area. Two our team collaborators - Oleg Furmanets and Viacheslav Bykov are covering agriculture side of the project. Oleg has Ph.D in Agriculture Chemistry and is a lecturer of the National University of Water and Environmental Engineering (Ukraine). Viachelsav is a leading research worker at the Institute of Evolutionary Ecology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. We have already obtained stable partners relationships with 4 educational institutions in Ukraine (The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University, National University of Water and Environmental Engineering, Zhytomyr National Agroecological University). Also, we work on collaboration with 2 institutions in United Kingdom (Royal Agricultural University and Rothamsted Research). We believe in success of our project because we have already got some inspiration thanks to recognition of Petiole at GIST Tech-I 2015. We became finalists there and in that year our project was selected as one of the 20 hottest startup ideas of the world by American business channel CNBC. Now our project is establishing its roots in the UK where we came under Tier 1 Exceptional Talent Visa route to improve agritech scene and bring our innovation here. However, knowing that leading countries in installing our mobile application are India and Brazil, we are focusing on developing countries too. We know what product our users need, hence, our team think that Petiole's success as an effective agritech tool is just a matter of time.
