Additional Questions

Who is your customer?

Small-scale prototypers and designers age 16-30; small- to medium-scale product designers age 18-35. Minor support shown for K-12 educators in the fields of science and engineering.

What problem does this idea/product solve or what market need does it serve?

A major concern with 3D-printer users is the lack of an ability to get specifically what the user wanted when he/she purchased their printer. Many find, after the novelty wears off, that the capabilities of the printer they purchased do not satisfy their needs. This leads some to modify printers, invalidating warranties and costing the user great time, energy, and money. Dev360 seeks to end this issue by allowing users to get exactly the printer they want, right from the start.

What attributes will make this idea/product successful? Why do you believe that those features will create success?

We provide an incredibly unique service. The ability to customize, an incredibly popular option in the PC world, has yet to come to fruition in the prosumer 3DP industry. Dev360 offers a freedom as yet unheard of in the 3D-printing community, making us stand out amid the din of the hundreds of incredibly similar prosumer printers inundating the market. Our success will come from the discontent of the 3D-printing community regarding the printers currently offered on the market.

Explain how you (your team) will execute to make this idea/product successful? What gives you (your team) an advantage over others already in the market or new to this market?

I'm in the process of building a team that is well-versed and experienced in the realm of building, working with, and optimizing 3D-printers. I myself have purchased a 3D-printer in the past, and was so fed up with its underwhelming performance that I built two printers to replace it. I have intimate experience with what makes a 3D-printer satisfying, and I'm building a team that shares that knowledge, experience, and passion.
