What problem does this idea/product solve or what market need does it serve?
A top advertising executive said “Half the money I spend on advertising is wasted; the trouble is, I don't know which half.” This was said over 100 years ago, and is still true today in outdoor advertising. So much so that online advertising has surpassed outdoor advertising by $49 Billion/year due to its ability to target, track and accurately measure follow through in real time for each marketing dollar spent. Outdoor advertisements rely on yearly traffic flow analysis and population to calculate possible number of views. There are currently very few ways to collect actionable data in real time for this market without spending millions on an analytical company to conduct extensive analytical collection. The Smart Billboard Solution can enable any billboard to track real time analytics like online advertisements with a onetime instillation of the Smart Billboard device.
What attributes will make this idea/product successful? Why do you believe that those features will create success?
The Smart Billboard Solution is a simple to install device for any advertising display that can immediately start tracking advertisement views and follow through. The Smart Billboard device identifies a person within a certain distance that is mostly likely to have viewed the advertisement and tracks a unique identifier for that person. This gives the display the ability to track the number of views on every advertisement at any given time or location. Once this data on the advertisement is collected it is correlated with the Smart Store and determines when the person comes into the store or on the website, giving a clear break down of effectiveness and return on investment. These unique attributes of the Smart Billboard Solution will allow an advertiser to accurately track their marketing campaign from one advertisement to a mass media buy across the nation, just like online advertising.
