Additional Questions

Who is your customer?

Recycling centres and Manufacturing companies willing to buy recycled plastic pellets.

What problem does this idea/product solve or what market need does it serve?

Imagine we all throw our garbage anyhow, just dup them in the nearest drain, river etc. Now imagine the environmental and health impacts. Sadly in Sierra Leone, we don't have to imagine about the impacts, it is a reality we experience.

What attributes will make this idea/product successful? Why do you believe that those features will create success?

A reliable infrastructure to collect, sort and recycle plastic waste in Sierra Leone. An effective collection strategy that serves the people, help rag pickers get more value for their segregated waste, and as the same time save manufacturers the cost of using virgin plastic with an alternative of recycled plastic with the same quality.

Explain how you (your team) will execute to make this idea/product successful? What gives you (your team) an advantage over others already in the market or new to this market?

The plastic recycling market is kind an untapped market that has a lot of potential. Businesses with a similar model are Wecyclers in Nigeria and Plastic bank in Haiti. Primary and secondary research has been done to find a solution that will fit our city Freetown and its people. Research will be a continuing process because the goal is to see how best I can work on the solution to get people actively involved in the habit of recycling. I researched and thought thoroughly about a suitable efficient collection strategy for the city.
