Commissioned Virtual Reality Events

Abstract

APXR Multimedia is a virtual reality artist group dedicated to transforming venues, expanding a spectrum of realities with AR and VR tech, as well as curating spaces that encourage playful art making.

We have designed and build a totally unique housing for the Oculus Rift to protect our equipment as well as protect people from falling or hurting themselves on objects while wearing the headset. This housing is also made to act as a stage or art installation that transforms any event into a light show.

We work one on one with venues to design and curate the experience they would like to give attendees in VR as well as the use of various lighting and art making materials.

Who is your customer?

Our initial customer started with the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance, a massive national non-profit, we curated a virtual reality tour of the sites they were trying to protect from oil drilling for free.Sense then we have found multiple more bookings for our equipment but have yet to create a market ready product that we feel comfortable charging booking fees for. We've found a niche in the VR market for club scenes and private bookings who are looking to offer unique and engaging experiences for their parties.

What problem does this idea/product solve or what market need does it serve?

Vr is on the forefront of media and art consumption, we investigated the VR market at Sundance with some of the leading VR production companies and found that no one was offering this tech as interactive staging and light displays. We invented and build the hardware to protect our equipment and make the VR station into an interactive light display which is highly portable and versatile, as well as the highest quality VR that is currently on the market.

What attributes will make this idea/product successful? Why do you believe that those features will create success?

We've found a niche in the market, we've found companies and venues that are super interested and have offered us bookings, we love what we do, and we do it really well. On top of this, when looking to our competitors in the VR market, that are notable deficiencies they have in terms of safety, quality, versatility that we have found simple and elegant solutions for.

Explain how you (your team) will execute to make this idea/product successful? What gives you (your team) an advantage over others already in the market or new to this market?

We have built this niche market by exploring, being creative and doing experiments where other people won't. We're gutsy, smart and have the discipline to follow through when we have an idea as well as understanding the importance of testing our ideas monetizing if it works or throwing work out if it doesn't. Unlike our competitors, no two of our shows are ever alike because each one is made as a curated artwork for specific venues. Our set up is also highly portable, safe, versatile, and beautiful. Aspects which our competitors are lacking in some areas.
