Additional Questions

Who is your customer?

Our overarching target market is children in low-income economies (< $8000 GNI) who lack access to education like refugees, displaced communities, and people facing lack of access due to gender, disability, and socioeconomic discrimination. Our initial market are children, ages 10-13 years old, in the 2015 earthquake impacted districts in Nepal, leaving many regions without access to education, internet, or an electrical grid. Our long-term target market goal is to scale to all age groups.

What problem does this idea/product solve or what market need does it serve?

Jara brings education to refugees and disaster-affected communities around the world through the Jara Unit—the first low-cost, low-powered education device that uses basic technology and does not require any pre-existing infrastructure.
