Common Sense Financial Literacy

Financial Literacy is something that is no longer taught in many schools. It is probably the single most important thing for students to learn before and during college. I have created a program that has been used by schools ,banks, and credit unions throughout Minnesota and the nation to present financial topics to students through presentations created specifically for students. I have already used my presentations in over thirty classroom sessions ranging from 1st grade to college age students. I have worked for both banks and credit unions and have seen first hand the effects of knowing your finances, and not knowing them. I even helped top launch a credit union branch inside of Owatonna High School. My efforts, along with the Credit Union's were featured in a KAAL news story and has been spotlighted by the Minnesota Credit Union Network. I want to create more, and better presentations that can be used by professional volunteers to prepare all students to be financially literate by college. I have brought my idea before a senate hearing, they loved it. I now bring the idea before you, I hope you too will see my passion and help me to grow and expand my passion.
