Abstract

DropZone For Veterans is the Match.com of veteran resources. We are a digital platform that connects veterans and their families with personalized, high-impact resources so they can thrive in their post-military lives. Our filterable database of over 116,000 resources includes every federal and state benefit and veteran non-profit in America so that no matter where a veteran is or what their need is, they can connect with what they need. Personalized filters and predictive analytics ensure that veterans and their families spend their time connecting rather than searching.

Who is your customer?

Our end users are the 54 million members of the military community, including veterans, spouses and children. Our paying customers are the companies and organizations that want to support veterans but are unable to connect. We have connected 3,000 veterans with resources, and in less than 90 days post-launch, were revenue generating and cash positive.

What problem does this idea/product solve or what market need does it serve?

We solve the problem of connecting veterans with resources. There is an abundance of goodwill toward American troops, but the current process of matching the donors with need is impersonal, inefficient and ineffective. With no way to organize or filter, connections are often random and irrelevant. In the end, 50% of veterans never use a resource in their entire life. For veterans, they are missing out on personal, professional and financial benefits. For the supporters, their time, money & effort is wasted and they aren't creating the desired impact.

What attributes will make this idea/product successful? Why do you believe that those features will create success?

Our product will be successful because not only have we consolidated over 116,000 resources, the largest database of its kind, but we are able to narrow those resources down to ensure the perfect match each time. DropZone For Veterans uses a sniper approach, while other companies are using a shot-fun. The end result is that we are able to effectively match the right veterans with the right resources at the right time.

Explain how you (your team) will execute to make this idea/product successful? What gives you (your team) an advantage over others already in the market or new to this market?

Since its launch on Veteran's Day 2016, DropZone For Veterans has been executing rapidly. We have connected 3,000 veterans with personalized, high-impact resources, won the Streetshares 'Veteran Small Business' award, and placed 1st in both the 'VetTech Pitch Fest' and 'Vet to CEO' business plan competition. We were accepted out of over 1,500 applicants as one of the 128 finalists in the Mass Challenge accelerator. Our founder has been named 'Military Entrepreneur Making a Difference', HubWeek's 'Changemaker of the Week' and one of the 2017 Boston MVP Entrepreneurs.
