Fast Forward is the only organization dedicated to tech nonprofits as a sector, utilizing a well-established Silicon Valley playbook and applying it to nonprofits. In support of this mission Fast Forward runs an accelerator program, which in three years has helped 23 tech nonprofits impact over 18.4M lives and raise $26M in follow-on funding. Fast Forward also hosts the Accelerate Good Global summit in San Francisco, maintains a comprehensive directory of tech-based nonprofits, and manages a tech-for-good job and volunteer board.

Who is your customer?

Tech non-profit entrepreneurs, Technology for-profit companies, Silicon Valley Tech executives, Tech community, Philanthropy, Foundations,

What problem does this idea/product solve or what market need does it serve?

We want to Accelerate Tech non-profits. Why Tech non-profits vs regular non-profits? 1) The biggest problems deserve the best technologies because Brick and Mortar non-profits are expensive and difficult to scale 2) Tech non-profits are most efficient capital path to impact, in fact they can scale so well resulting in out-sized impact And why do we want to Accelerate them? There's a huge opportunity to apply tech to social problems but the ecosystem of support is too small. Entrepreneurs in the space have unique needs at the intersection of both tech and nonprofit but lack the resources to be successful. At the same time, many in the tech community are looking for meaning and would give back if doing so were more accessible.

What attributes will make this idea/product successful? Why do you believe that those features will create success?

What sets us apart is our 100% focus on Tech Non-profits. Other fellowships and programs invest in socially good organizations, but no other funders or accelerators focus exclusively on the gap in support for tech non-profits. Due to our focus on tech non-profits, we really understand the market 1) We maintain the only directory for tech non-profits 2) Foster an vibrant on and offline community of leaders of over 350 tech non-profits 3) Convene the broader tech community through a global summit, the only such event in this space 4)Feature over 500 tech non-profit job and volunteer opportunities on our job board

Explain how you (your team) will execute to make this idea/product successful? What gives you (your team) an advantage over others already in the market or new to this market?

We have run the accelerator for 3 years now, and Accelerating works. The impact we have created till date is 23 tech non-profits have gone through our accelerator, impacting 18 million lives, raised $28M of follow-on funding. 79% of these tech non-profits have a female founder or a "people of color" founder, and 64% of our companies raise $750K or more of follow-on funding within a year (better rate than our for-profit counterparts - YCombinator and TechStars)
