Abstract

We are starting up a bee honey company. The etymology club at Millersville University is raising bees, and are interested in beginning to sell the honey to local Lancaster residents.

Local Lancaster residents, as well as Millersville University students.

What problem does this idea/product solve or what market need does it serve?

Local honey has numerous health benefits. It would help residents of the Lancaster county lead a healthy living style. It would also help to raise awareness for the decrees of bees that we, as a society, are facing.

What attributes will make this idea/product successful? Why do you believe that those features will create success?

Our product is locally grown, which has numerous health benefits. We also have multiple clubs working on the product which allows for an many different minded people.

Explain how you (your team) will execute to make this idea/product successful? What gives you (your team) an advantage over others already in the market or new to this market?

We hope to sell the honey to local grocery stores in the Lancaster area, as well as the Millersville University dining services. The fact that we are selling local raw honey would give us an advantage over other companies who are already in the market. Many people know the health benefits of local honey. Our customers would know exactly where the honey is coming from.
