Nursing Multi-Tool

After over 20 years of directly experiencing the frustrations of everyday nursing, my wife and colleagues conceived of this idea out of necessity. We decided to apply her nursing knowledge with my business degrees and our collective willingness to create something innovative to help nurses everywhere to stay organized, save time, and cut clutter. Our patent-pending design is a one-of-a-kind multi-tool that ensures the wearer is always equipped with an LED light, medical tape, pill splitter, measuring tape, scissors, and hemostats.

Additional Questions

Who is your customer?

Our primary customer is the nurse working at the bedside, however, there are also LPN's, CNA's, ANP's and even MD's may also be our customers. There are 3 million registered nurses in the U.S. We estimate that perhaps 40% are currently working at the bedside. We also estimate the worldwide audience ranges between 30 and 50 million people, when considering all potential customers.

What problem does this idea/product solve or what market need does it serve?

The compact design allows multiple instruments to be contained on a small device. The benefits are that the nurse will have those tools handy and cannot become disorganized.

What attributes will make this idea/product successful? Why do you believe that those features will create success?

We have filed a patent to protect our design. We believe that a multi-tool of this nature will be popular among nurses everywhere. Our price point is in the gifting sweet spot, and not so much that a dubious nurse would be risking too much on an untested, new, unique product.

Explain how you (your team) will execute to make this idea/product successful? What gives you (your team) an advantage over others already in the market or new to this market?

We will be using social media primarily. We are hoping early adopters will spread the word by mouth. We know that nurses will use this in the company of several other nurses who will be curious about this new item. We made every effort to produce a high quality product that will positively impact the daily lives of nurses everywhere.
