Production of Chocolate


Start the only chocolate manufacturing company in Liberia. Cocoa is grown on a large scale in this West African country but there is no company/factory turning the crop to a finish product. As the result the beans are being exported. There is a very cheap labour force and access to the raw material (Cocoa). Chocolate production is going to be cheap and there is a good market for local product eventually exportation.

Primarily the population of Liberia and later on a large scale export to other African Countries.

What problem does this idea/product solve or what market need does it serve?

The product is going to transform the cocoa beans into a finish product for consumption on the local market and exportation. It's would be the only finish product being exported out of Liberia. And reduce the price of chocolate and related products on the market because they are going to be produce locally.

What attributes will make this idea/product successful? Why do you believe that those features will create success?

For a fact that it's the only Liberian made chocolate company will gain it favor over other imported chocolate on the market. The team behind this project/product is very dedicated and is going work hard for its success against all odds. The product is going to be of international standard and manufacture under the best industrial practice. There's a growing interest from the government in made in Liberia product in order to straighten the economy and provide jobs. And exportation of the product will help in revenue generation and currency exchange. So the government is willing to provide all necessary assist to infant companies to succeed.

Explain how you (your team) will execute to make this idea/product successful? What gives you (your team) an advantage over others already in the market or new to this market?

We are going to ensure the production of high quality chocolate. The team will carry out an intensive advertising strategy. Every market in the country is going to be visited with product and a sample for by-passers to taste. A door to door campaign is going to be executed to make the population aware of the product and promote sales. We are going negotiate with relevant government agencies to prioritize the protection of the locally manufactured product, therefore giving us advantage over imported products. The team has a vast land in the productive county of Lofa to grow its own cocoa and manufacture finish product at little or no cost. This is an advantage over others that will try to enter the market. While in the market as the only made in Liberia chocolate, creating a reputable and trusted brand is going to be a number one priority. As a result, any new product coming will be met with a strong brand loyalty.
