iHum is essentially a peer-to-peer engagement philosophy that operates by creating the conditions necessary for the emergence of egoless sharing, ubiquitous access to knowledge, and open innovation. Our trans-disciplinary research indicates that as of 2018, it is now possible to create the necessary conditions for self-organizing synergistic collaboration to occur within both open and closed network organisations such as the PGSA. iHum sets both the conditions and a frame by leveraging individuals existing level of trust, shared values, and sense of commitment to a common goal. By allowing synergies to emerge between the ‘individuals’ and the ‘groups’ that are involved in the highly potent, yet dynamic process of collaboration. iHum sets the stage to simultaneously give voice to the autonomy, mastery & purpose of individual actors and inherently balance the demands of organisational outcomes. According to iHum, the emergence of synergistic phenomenon between individual actors and the larger network rests on three key principles which together constitute an open frame for collaboration. Namely, these principles are: 1) the option to seamlessly go in and out of anonymity; 2) the ability to access/contribute both asynchronously and ubiquitously; and 3) the liberty to integrate applicable software applications/platforms and institutionalised rules-of-engagement.
