What problem does this idea/product solve or what market need does it serve?

Desert Platforms aims to fulfill an unmet need in Arizona by providing value-driven services for medical device product development. DPMDC’s goal is to decrease time to market and development costs for clients, while improving their compliance and ensuring market success of their products. By doing so DPMDC helps increase their ROI and exit valuations.

What attributes will make this idea/product successful? Why do you believe that those features will create success?

Local, experts in acceleration of stalled development, cost-effective by reducing scope and clear definition of Minimum Viable Product (MVP), creative and experts in brainstorming, and experienced with many different client profiles from startups to MNCs.

Explain how you (your team) will execute to make this idea/product successful? What gives you (your team) an advantage over others already in the market or new to this market?

The CEO/CTO of Desert Platforms is Rahul R. Rao, P.E. He has held many different positions within the medical device innovation space over his 13 year career, taking care to learn the nuances of each position. Mr. Rao founded the company and has acted as CEO over the past 2 years taking the fledgling organization from approx. $40k to $115k annual revenue. He has worked in large MNCs where he learned the processes and roles and responsibilities for sustained success in the market. He coupled that experience and honed innovation abilities at start-ups where ingenuity, gumption, and cost-effectiveness are prized. Mr. Rao graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Biomechanics from The University of Texas at Austin and has earned industry honors such as Professional Engineer licensed within the state of Texas.
