Create a zero waste hub


Proyecto Cero Basura was born from a viral video presenting the zerowaste lyfestyle that my family and I adopted 2 years ago. This documentary has caused a big zero waste movement in Mexico. Mexico right now has a momentum that by using adequately could cause major changes in the use of plastics. The concept is to create a zerowaste Hub in order to provide alliances and solutions with civil society, enterprises, organizations and all other society actors that pursue the goal of creating a trash free society.

Who is your customer?

My customer is mainly composed of females age 24-40 who want to join the zero waste movement. But the customer could extend to all people interested in adopting this lifestyle and also include organizations and other institutions.

What problem does this idea/product solve or what market need does it serve?

It solves the problem of plastic drowning our oceans, it solves the problems of pollutions with chemicals from a diverse array of cleaning and makeup products. It favors local economy. Since the launch of the video, more than 8 million people have seen it, so there is a lot of interest in this movement and people are engaged in creating a better world for everyone.

What attributes will make this idea/product successful? Why do you believe that those features will create success?

Because so many people and institutions in Mexico are already interested in participating in the zero-waste movement. Prior to the launch of the documentary in July 2017, there were not so many people involved, but right now there is a wide array of people interested in forming part of the zero-waste community.

Explain how you (your team) will execute to make this idea/product successful? What gives you (your team) an advantage over others already in the market or new to this market?

Because we want to join and involve all participants of the civil society into this great movement. We want to create a hub where people can feel part of a community, and that we working together we are creating change, the change we would love to see on the world. We will do this by implementing a great communication campaign and provide knowledge to the actors involved, in order to reduce their waste, and by creating a great communication strategy.
