Abstract

-Recruit 10,000 Utahns to pursue targeted 18-24 month degrees

-Leverage existing programs and relationships within Higher Ed, CTE, and Utah business

-Streamline services for the cohort

-Design a media campaign across KSL/DMC platforms to create awareness, eliminate stigma and document success

Case in point:

Lane Pyfer,24, just graduated from 2-year program--makes $73,000+

His Dad, Aaron, did the same to re-invent his career.

Until this, their family didn't know much about these options, even though their mom and wife, Tami, is the Governor's Education Advisor.

Who is your customer?

All Utahns who would like to get a job, boost their earning capacity, re-invent their careers and reach their full potential.

What problem does this idea/product solve or what market need does it serve?

More Utahns could achieve the American Dream and boost their income 10% (if not $10,000) but they: --aren't aware of what's possiblewith technical education --aren't aware of 18-24 month degrees --aren't aware of existing financial aid and scholarships --have a negative impression of technical education --have a negative impression of technical "blue collar" jobs Our proposal would address these with a multi-platform campaign that spreads awareness, actually enrolls the students and reinforces with documented success

What attributes will make this idea/product successful? Why do you believe that those features will create success?

Utah uniquely has the existing elements: a growing labor force, robust higher ed and CTE programs, unfilled needs in tech industries and partnerships with business. KSL has the reach and capacity to create a multi-platform campaign and leverage those elements to create a community movement.

Explain how you (your team) will execute to make this idea/product successful? What gives you (your team) an advantage over others already in the market or new to this market?

We have a demonstrated ability to create awareness campaigns that lead to public action and benefit. Money alone can't buy this kind of public spotlight.
