roadRewards

Abstract

roadRewards is a creative solution to the ever increasing problem of distracted driving. With it you earn points for not driving distracted and keeping your phone locked throughout the drive. As you earn more points you can use those to get different rewards and discounts to use at local businesses. roadRewards will not only improve the safety of the drivers themselves but also those around them that would be affected by the extreme dangers of distracted driving.

Who is your customer?

The customer that we would be mainly focused on is teenagers ages 15-19 and their parents. The reason for this being that first of all they are some of the most dangerous drivers because they are so inexperienced at driving. Second of all because they are the largest age group reported to be distracted at fatal accidents. Their parents are another customer because they will be the ones worried about their child driving distracted and this can give them the comfort they need while allowing the teenagers to still enjoy driving safely and get rewards for it.

What problem does this idea/product solve or what market need does it serve?

The problem that this product solves is the issue with distracted driving. It is the number one cause of car accidents in the U.S. and each year accounts for almost 500,000 injuries. With teens being the largest age group reported to be distracted at fatal crashes. With roadRewards we will be able to keep teenagers off of their phones while driving as well as making them want to do it by providing the rewards that they can get using the points they earn.

What attributes will make this idea/product successful? Why do you believe that those features will create success?

The fact that this it is solving such a big problem is what will mainly make this product so successful. Distracted driving is only a problem that is getting worse and worse and there really aren't any solutions that make it enjoyable for the driver. Whereas now the worried parent can know their child is driving safely and the teenager will get awesome rewards that they like for driving without using their phone.

Explain how you (your team) will execute to make this idea/product successful? What gives you (your team) an advantage over others already in the market or new to this market?

What gives us an advantage over others is that there is no other product like this out there that is using a point earning system to get rewards while driving. Therefore we are first to market and that gives us a huge opportunity to capitalize on this and make roadRewards huge.
